Qingfa runs 42 injection moulding machines. The largest is a 90,000 kN (about 9,000 t) two-platen press that moulds PE100 pressure parts up to dn1600 in a single shot, with a maximum shot weight of 2.1 million grams. We take on contract moulding for pipe fitting producers, valve manufacturers and industrial OEMs – with your mould or with tooling quoted alongside the production run.

Most fitting plants stop at dn630 or dn800 – above that, parts are cut and welded from pipe, or imported. A single-piece moulded fitting removes the weld seam, the double-wall thickness at the joint and the extra NDT that comes with it. If your project needs a large part that has always been fabricated, this is where to start.

What we mould

  • Large-diameter PE pressure fittings – equal and reducing tees, elbows, end caps and transition pieces up to dn1600, moulded in one piece.
  • Thick-section and heavy parts – a typical production part on this press runs about 1.55 t of PE100. Heavy-wall sections that starve a smaller machine are routine here.
  • Valve bodies and PE–steel transition components – see our HDPE ball valves and PE–steel transition fittings for the parts we already make in volume.
  • PE100, PE80 and PE100-RC resins, SDR11 to SDR17 for pressure pipe. PE100-RC (crack-resistant) grades are available where slow-crack growth matters.
  • Other thermoplastics – PP and common engineering grades. Send the resin data sheet and we will confirm machine and mould suitability before quoting.
Best fit: parts from roughly 1 kg to 2 t, outside diameters up to 1600 mm, pressure-rated or structural, low to mid volume. Smaller runs are moulded on our 41 other machines, which usually brings unit cost down – so tell us the size and we will route it to the right press rather than the big one.

Customer-supplied moulds are welcome

You do not have to buy tooling from us to use the press. We regularly run customer-owned moulds, and the clamping and handling system on this machine was specified for exactly that – moulds up to 120 t are moved and locked hydraulically in under 90 minutes, instead of six to eight hours of manual clamping.

  • Bring your own mould – send the mould drawing, weight, stack height and clamping pattern. We will confirm fit and return a trial plan.
  • No mould yet – we quote tooling as a separate line item next to the production price, so you can see both before committing.
  • Mould ownership stays yours – customer moulds are stored, maintained and insured as customer property, and returned or transferred on request.
  • NDA on request – we sign a mutual NDA before drawings are exchanged.

From drawing to shipment

  1. Send the drawing – 2D and 3D (STEP, IGES or DWG), resin grade, annual volume and any pressure class or standard the part must meet.
  2. DFM review – we check wall thickness, draft, shrinkage allowance, gate position and cooling against the 90,000 kN clamp and 120 t mould limit, and send back a marked-up drawing with any changes we recommend.
  3. Tooling – your mould is inspected and set up; if tooling is needed, it is quoted with a trial schedule.
  4. First trial – first shots plus a dimensional report, so you see the part before volume starts.
  5. Pilot run – a small batch for fit-up, hydrostatic test or field trial, with material certificates.
  6. Mass production – scheduled by volume, with in-process checks on weight, dimensions and appearance.
  7. Inspection and export – final dimensional and pressure testing in our own laboratory, packing to your requirement, and export documentation.

Quality and certification

Moulding is only half the job; the part has to be provable. Testing happens in-house, in a CNAS-accredited laboratory (ISO/IEC 17025), so results come back without an outside queue.

  • Management systems – ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Product approvals – CE, WRAS, Korean KS, and testing to EN 1555 / ISO 4437 for gas and EN 12201 / ISO 4427 for water.
  • Traceability – resin batch, machine, mould, shift and operator recorded against the finished part, so a query can be traced back to the shot.
  • Reports – dimensional report, hydrostatic test record and material certificate issued with each production lot on request.

Capacity behind the press

The press does not work alone. At our base in Xiaojingpu Industry Park, Hemudu Town, Yuyao (Ningbo, Zhejiang), production runs across 42 injection moulding machines, more than 40 units of CNC machining equipment and 10 automatic welding machines, with a central feeding system and automated lines – an annual capacity of about 10,000 t. That means a moulded part can be machined, assembled, tested and packed without leaving the site, which is usually what decides the lead time on a large fitting.

Frequently asked questions

What is the largest part you can mould?

dn1600 (1,600 mm outside diameter) in a single piece, with a maximum shot weight of 2.1 million grams and a maximum mould weight of 120 t. If a part needs more material than one shot, we will tell you at the DFM stage rather than after tooling.

Can you run our own mould?

Yes. Customer-owned moulds are a normal part of the work here, up to 120 t. Send the mould drawing, weight and stack height and we will confirm the clamping pattern and a trial date.

Which materials do you mould?

PE100, PE80 and PE100-RC in SDR11 to SDR17 for pressure pipe, plus PP and common engineering thermoplastics. Send the resin data sheet and we will confirm suitability before quoting – some grades need specific drying or temperature profiles.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

There is no fixed MOQ. Trial and pilot quantities are accepted, because most large-part projects start with one part to test. What drives the price is machine hours and tooling, not the number of parts – so a small first run is quoted as a small first run.

How long does a project take?

It depends on whether tooling is needed and on the mould's condition, so we quote a timeline with the price rather than a generic number. The steps are fixed: DFM review, tooling, first trial, pilot run, then volume. You get the schedule in writing at quotation.

Do you sign an NDA?

Yes. We sign a mutual NDA before drawings or mould data are exchanged, and customer drawings are not used for any other customer's work.

How is quality verified on a moulding job?

Weight and dimensional checks in process, then final dimensional and hydrostatic testing in our CNAS-accredited laboratory, with material certificates issued against the resin batch. Test records ship with the lot on request.

Can you mould parts that are not pipe fittings?

Yes, as long as the part fits the machine and the resin suits the process – industrial components, valve bodies, tanks and structural parts are all fair game. Send the drawing and we will tell you honestly whether this press is the right one or whether a smaller machine is cheaper for you.

Send a drawing for a DFM review

2D/3D file, resin grade and annual volume is enough to start. Include the pressure class or standard if the part has one. We reply with feasibility, tooling options and a price – usually within two working days. Request a quote or email julie@zjqingfa.com.
