HDPE Butt Fusion 90 Degree Elbow - DN20 to DN900

The HDPE hot-melt 90 degree elbow is injection moulded from new PE100 high-density polyethylene and joined to HDPE pipe by hot-melt (butt fusion) bonding. It is designed specifically for right-angle changes of direction, and because the pipe and fitting fuse into a single homogeneous piece the joint is stronger than the pipe wall itself, with no gasket to age and no mechanical fitting to loosen.

Butt Fusion 90° Elbow Wall Series Coverage

This is the mid-range 90° elbow, moulded from dn75 to dn400 - the band where a distribution main is large enough to need a machine-welded bend but has not yet reached the diameter where the fitting is made to order. The table below prints the two wall series we mould at each size, because the same nominal diameter is not always available in both.

From dn90 the elbow is moulded in both SDR11 and SDR17; only the smallest size in the range, dn75, is limited to SDR11. That matters on a line that steps down in pressure class at a valve or a reducer: the bend on the upstream side is ordered in SDR11 and the one downstream in SDR17, and no adapter is needed between them. The outside diameter is identical in both series, so a bend ordered in the wrong series will still slide onto the pipes - it will just leave a step at the fusion face.
